FROM YOUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS
We have seen unprecedented visitation to our mountain during the last year. Over 100 properties have been bought and sold in Strawberry Valley which represents over ¼ of all the lots! Welcome to all the new owners and we look forward to meeting you at the meeting. We will be having a Memorial Day meeting 2025. The meeting is scheduled for 10:00 am on Saturday, May 24, 2025. The meeting will be held at the Strawberry Valley Community Center. There will not be a Highway trash pick up this meeting. We will schedule a trash pick up for sometime next summer.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS GOALS 2025Membership Want to know what's going on in Strawberry Valley or on the Mountain? Join the SVPOA and come to the membership meetings! Help GET THE WORD OUT to your neighbors or new property owners in your neighborhood! Membership applications are available in the drop boxes at the bulletin boards by the dumpsters and outside the community center, as well as here on our website. Strawberry Valley Community Center Did you know the Strawberry Valley Community Center is available to use for family gatherings, weddings, receptions, reunions and birthday or anniversary parties? Cost is $50.00 daily rental fee donation with a $50.00 refundable cleaning deposit. Use is not limited to SVPOA property owners or members. Please contact Linda Stinar for more information and availability. Roads and Parking Please remember that no parking is allowed on subdivision roads at any time. We continue to have issues with property owners and visitors parking on the roads. It is the responsibility of the property owner to clear parking on their property. Cedar Mountain Fire Protection District works with the contractors tasked with snow removal to keep the roads clear after snowfall of 6" or more. Vehicles parked on the roads prohibit snow removal and can make it impossible for emergency vehicles to gain access in an emergency. If you rent your cabin, it is your responsibility to have adequate parking cleared on your property and that renters are aware they cannot park in the roadway. If you have a fire hydrant adjoining your property, please remember you must allow 2' on all sides of the hydrant from fences and for snow removal. Property owners are responsible for making sure their property address is posted in a conspicuous place in front of your property. Numbers must be at least 3” tall and of a reflective material to be easily visible from the street. This will allow emergency personnel to find you or your neighbors in case of a medical or other emergency. Old subdivision lot numbers must be removed!! STRAWBERRY VALLEY AIRPORT Summer is in full swing and your Strawberry Valley Airports Managers want to remind you and your tenants that the Airport Property is for AIRCRAFT ONLY. Unfortunately the actions of a few have ruined it for all. There is already a major Hazard from the local wildlife, we do not need to increase that hazard by having people, kids, and dogs on the property. If someone is vandalizing the property and creating a hazard (whether they are riding a vehicle on the property or leaving logs, tires or other debris) they will be cited and trespassed. The airport is protected by 18 U.S. Code § 32- Destruction of aircraft or aircraft facilities. |

COMMUNITY CALENDARMEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND 10am Membership Meeting Saturday, May 24, 2025 Meeting to be held in person at the Strawberry Valley Community Center There will be NO Potluck DUST CONTROL
Most of you may already be aware that the Cedar Mountain Fire Protection District (CMFPD) has taken over the dust abatement application. The first application was applied in the early part of the summer. The cost per lot will be billed to every property owner on tax statements, just as snow removal is currently. Zoning Change Requests
In the past year there have been several applications filed with Kane County for zone changes to commercial. Many Strawberry Valley residents were very concerned or opposed to these proposed changes. Commercial zoning would have allowed any type of commercial business to be built in our valley, including gas stations, or other high traffic type businesses. These requests were denied by the county, however, since that time, the county has revised its commercial zoning ordinances to include a Light Commercial category. This could include a small restaurant or professional office building. Your SVPOA will continue to monitor any future applications for rezoning and work with the commission to ensure our community is not negatively impacted.
